Dragon tattoo by Joe

had the pleasure of tattooing Gundia from china over the past couple of months. He came to me wanting a Chinese style dragon quarter sleeve. Chinese style tattoos i find are slightly more lose than a tradition Japanese tattoo. Both styles in my eyes look amazing tattooed and healed even after many years. Each session he sat amazingly well and never complained once! I hope to see him one day when I go visit mainland china 🙂 thanks , Joe

sunflower cover up by Joe

Lilly had first came for a consultation to discuss covering her old tattoo which was some script on her arm. Originally we went for roses but then Lilly had a change of mind and we booked again for another session. I cant stress enough how important it is for the client to be 100% with the image they want, I would rather re book and spend time planning a little and drawing a new piece rather than a list minute job, it was a tricky coverup because of the size and scale Lilly wanted the flower and how much we could use to cover the old tattoo. But I came up with a final design for her and everything went smoothly in the end,  and the sun flower tattoo came out like i imagined . feeling grateful 🙂 @incognetojoe

Skuller cover up by @artofgallo

Sophie came to me with a tattoo she wanted covering up with a skull designs, I couldn’t really use a full skull because I needed to use the darkest area of the skull and largest (this been the open skull mouth). So i came up with an idea to use the top half of the skulls jaw to cover up the star. We will be adding a rose to this piece also. skulls are always super fun and organic to do, most of the the time i don’t look at much reference i just use my own shapes and textures. @artofgallo

dragon painting by @joegallowatattoo

I started this drawing around Christmas time and i actually completely forgot about it due to me getting sick for a few weeks (some xmas bug that was going around 🙁 ) I then randomly came across the sketch and decided to start finishing the drawing getting it ready to paint! Worked on the background first and then started to add  a first layer onto my foreground. After letting it dry I then added details mainly into the dragons head and scales. Fun piece to paint, never get bored of dragon, they always come out different and have there own unique personalities ^_^ Please follow me @joegallotattoo13220522_10156930915970385_2424656566102473537_o

Flower work by Joe

We first started by doing the top and bottom patterns you can see in the tattoo, after that we let them heal up and then worked on the large gap left in the middle. Lauren wanted some roses in the middle and gave me freedom of style. I wanted to give detail in my own way to the roses, fine lines and darker compared to the patterns surrounding. Came out great, enjoyed doing it, shes a really nice and chilled out client, cant ask for more ^_^ Joe. Please follow me on instagram @artofgallo
