The time is coming, Jimmy is going to be doing his first day at work with us at Familia Tattoo in Leeds city centre. His first day will be this Tuesday coming up. We are really happy we have found an artist who we can learn from. His script work is really nice, and he does it all free hand, which is pretty cool. When tattoos are free handed straight on skin, you can make it flow the shape of the body a lot easier, than when we drawn on paper. If you looking for writing and custom script work, be sure to get in touch with our studio. Follow us on instagram @familiatattooleeds
We have been in search for a new artist for a while, and believe you me, it’s not that easy to find someone, we were just looking for someone who can apply clean work, and be chilled like me and Joe. We had a meeting with Jimmy in the studio, and we were happy to take him on. We believe he has something to add to the table. He’s a writing specialist, and we look forward to learn from each other. In the end of the day, that’s what tattooing is all about, if one day we stop learning, mite as well quit, Welcome Jimmy, new Familia artist, we look forward to see awesome writing work in the studio.
In times of quarantine, I was sure to work on projects I didn’t have much time to work before. A female warrior riding a fantasy dragon, was what I tried to approach. I hope everyone is keeping safe.
We are always listening to hip hop in the studio, it’s a nice sort of music to work to. A lot of people like hip hop too, so it’s easier to please most customers. We also like to listen to rock music, however we only try to play it, if the client is in to it. Trying to make your customer comfortable while they get tattooed, is one of our aims in our studio in Leeds City Centre.
In time of quarantine, i’m having a lot of time to reflect on a lot of ideas i had, for painting and drawing. And one idea i had, was to paint a portrait of probably my favourite movie last year, the joker. I was waiting for the opportunity to have the time to do this comic portrait. The movie was out of this world, and Joaquin Phoenix deserved an Oscar for his performance with no shadow of a doubt.
